Doris Eleanor Parsell

December 11, 1930 — April 9, 2017

Doris Eleanor Kelly was born December 11th, 1930 to Joseph Leroy Kelly and Mary Isabel Raine Kelly in Fresno, California. Doris was the oldest of 3 children and is survived by her younger brothers, Gordon & Douglas Kelly. As a teenager, Doris took care of her brothers while her mother worked for the telephone company since Joseph died young from Parkinson's disease. Doris attended college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she met her husband, Robert W Parsell. After their marriage on March 24th, 1954 in Manti, Utah, she looked forward to starting their life together on the Parsell ranch in Toole County. With visions of the tidy little ranches with white fences she was accustomed to in California, she was astounded by the unexpected wide open rugged country of Montana. She came to love her Montana home and most of all loved raising her family here. Doris and Bob were blessed with 5 children. After all the children were in school she taught Title One at the Bitterroot Elementary School. She loved her students and helped them to develop their learning skills. Doris had strong faith in God and raised her children to love the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was always there to support her children. We all agree that we had the best Mom ever. Doris spent many years as the Primary President working in the children's organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Due to pulmonary fibrosis Doris moved to California to facilitate her oxygen levels and live near her youngest daughter, Janet. Her home there became a destination for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren for frequent visits and reunions. Doris passed away peacefully at home on April 9th, 2017.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert W Parsell; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, David Parsell and his daughters, Jessica (Taryn) Ashton and son, Amelia Parsell, Kimberly Parsell, Carly Parsell; Joyce (Mike) Christensen and her children, Kent (Brooke) Christensen and 3 sons and 1 daughter, Karl (Valerie) Christensen and 3 sons, Craig (Lori) Christensen and 3 daughters and 1 son, Kaylee (Nick) Liebhardt and 1 son and 1 daughter, Kelly (Robyn) Christensen and daughter; Harold (Lenay) Parsell and his children, Jennifer (David) Dupuis and 2 sons, Jaclyn (Joseph) Benge and 3 sons, Drew (Tracie) Parsell, Steven Parsell; Joan (Lance) Stewart and her children, Brice (Ingrid) Stewart and 3 daughters and 1 son, Kyle (Sheila) Stewart and 2 daughters, Amanda (Chris) Holladay and son, Ryan (Sarah) Stewart and daughter, Keane Stewart, Derrick Stewart, and Olivia Stewart; Janet (Roger) Lawry and her children, Brad Lawry, Trevor Lawry, Sean Lawry and Spencer Lawry.
