Carol Tillman was born on May 17, 1951, in Powell, Wyoming, the third child of Edgar Perl and Zelda Foust.
Carol met her husband, Tom Tillman, while working as a bartender at the Ramada Inn in Evanston, Wyoming. Through Tom’s work, they moved to Shelby, Montana, where Carol made her home for the rest of her life.
Carol enjoyed taking care of people and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She later worked at the Crossroads Inn before taking a job in the postal office at the prison, where she worked for many years until her retirement.
Carol enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing many lunch dates and travel adventures over the years. She also loved crocheting and made several afghans for her family. These handmade treasures are still enjoyed today and will always be a special reminder of her love.
Carol is preceded in death by her older brother, Dennis Perl. Carol is survived by her sister, Jan Havig of Evanston, Wyoming; her brother, Curtis Perl of Powell, Wyoming; her stepson, Tommy Tillman, and her grandson, Blake, whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Carol wished to be cremated, and there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, Carol would have wanted you to take a friend to lunch and enjoy each other’s company in the spirit of friendship—a simple way to honor the many friendships she treasured throughout her life.
Carol will be remembered for her caring heart, the friendships she cherished, and the love she shared with her family. The memories made over the years and the afghans she lovingly created will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
