Bradly Ray Tomsheck, 67, of Shelby, Montana left us peacefully on the evening of April 28th.
Brad was born on May 18th, 1958 to Ray and Georgia Tomsheck. He graduated Shelby High School in 1976, and went on to attend MSU Northern, where he furthered his education. Following school, Brad worked in the Bakken oil fields near Williston, North Dakota, welding pipeline. During this time, he also pursued and earned his welding certification as well as his private pilot’s license. Brad was an active member of his community, serving on the Northern Telephone board and contributing to the development of the Ethridge water district.
Though he built valuable skills along the way, Brad’s true passion was always farming. He returned to Shelby to pursue that calling, founding Rocky 80 Inc. and dedicating his life to being a steward of the land.
Brad married his first wife, Deon in 1982. Together they had two children Holly Tomsheck of Livingston, MT, and Tony (Katie) Tomsheck of Conrad, MT. He was a proud grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters, Amelia and Nora. In 2011, Brad married the love of his life, Nancy, and the two farmed side by side ever since.
Brad found joy in the rhythm of daily life on the farm. On special days, he could be found flying his plane. He was a master class marksman and enjoyed sharing his knowledge through participation in local 4-H shooting sports. He was also an avid hunter, a master mechanic and a skilled grill master. After a long day’s work, he enjoyed sitting on the deck with a Coors Light in hand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his daughter, Holly; his Son, Tony (Katie), and granddaughters Amelia and Nora; his parents, Ray and Georgia Tomsheck; his brother Rick (Nita) Tomsheck and family; his sisters Tammie (Mike) Waite and Julie (Steve) Ahrens and their families; his in-laws Lou Ann Burd; Deb (Dick) Steinbacher and family; Ron (Kim) Burd and family; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his best friend and cousin, Dan Tomsheck of Cut Bank, his Father in-law, Miles Burd; William Dafoe of Whitlash; Ellie Hawes of Kalispell; Art & Agnes Tomsheck of Cut Bank; Bob & Ethyl Tomsheck of Sunburst; Irvin & Jeanette Brown of Whitlash; Herb and Nancy Trovatten of Shelby; Ginny Porter of Shelby.
