Bob Moog

August 1, 1925 — June 2, 2018

Born Robert William Moog on August 1, 1925 in Inverness, the third child of six born to Otto and Irene (White) Moog.  Known to all as Bob, he attended school in Inverness.

Bob and Una Nadine Alley were married June 2, 1946 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Conrad, Mt. while Bob worked at Safeway.

They moved to Joplin in 1947 to farm his Aunt Violet (White) Smith’s farm until the farm was sold to Errol Fossen family and he also worked at the Joplin Grocery.

They moved to Inverness in April 1951, where Bob continued to work at Joplin Grocery.  In 1953, they bought into the International Harvester business from Eddy McClellan which would then become Hi-Line Equipment Co. with partners Tommy Wood and Elmer Klemm.  Besides selling I-H farm equipment, trucks and pickups, the partnership began buying small parcels of land to farm.  Bob and Tommy eventually bought out Klemm and in 1962 they sold the equipment business to Marias Equipment in Chester.  Bob continued to be an I-H salesman for Marias Equipment until 1990 – the last 2 years for Dick & Gary Brown of Big Sky Equipment in Conrad.   The Hi-Line Farms partnership continued until April 15, 1988.

Other activities Bob did in his spare time included a lifelong membership at the Sacred Heart Church, Inverness where he was usher, greeter and kept the grass and weeds mowed and made sure the church was always warm for Mass and other events held; was a director of Hill Co Water District 1982-95, replacing Lester Kenfield.  Bob was one of the founding directors of Inverness Water District established in 1964.  He enjoyed square-dancing and league bowling in the 1960-70’s.  He also enjoyed mowing grass for several neighbors to keep Inverness beautiful.

Bob and Una briefly spent time at the Sweet Grass Lodge moving into the Wheat Country Estates in Mar of 2015.  Then Bob moved into the Long Term Care facility in Chester on Sept 27, 2017.

Bob is survived by Una and actually passed away on his and Una’s 72nd wedding anniversary, June 2, 2018.  He is also survived by all 9 of his children and their spouses, 35 Grandchildren, 31 Great grandchildren, sibling Leonard (Madeline) Moog, sister in law Bev Moog, many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, siblings Alice Lakey, Otto (Bud) Moog, Vern Moog, Margaret Bailey and 2 grandsons John David Moog and Cole Keith Moog.
