Anna Mae (Herbst) Eberhardt

July 7, 1931 — October 21, 2022

Cut Bank

Anna Mae Eberhardt, 91 passed away Friday October 21, 2022.

Anna Mae was born July 7, 1931, in Eisenstein, WI to William and Grace Herbst.  Anna had three younger sisters Laverne (Toots) Weiss, Janet (Nette) Mours, and Bonnie Mattke.  She attended school up until the 8th grade and from there she entered the workforce along with helping on the family farm. She worked in the paper mill for several years, along with trying her hand as a seamstress and waitressing for a short time.

On November 3, 1957, Anna Mae married Elroy Eberhardt in Park Falls, WI.  From this union they had 3 children Sharon, Gail, and Gary.  In 1970 they moved from West Point, IA to Cut Bank, MT as Elroy had plans to join his brother in his construction business.  Elroy started his own construction company that Anna Mae assisted with, from paperwork to splicing cable.

The Eberhardt family built their cabin near Snow Slip in 1972.  The family enjoyed many holidays, snowmobiling, and time at the cabin over the years until they sold it.  Anna Mae enjoyed hosting friends and family at the cabin over the years.  She always had a new idea to add to the Christmas decorations or something fun for the yard.

Over the years in Cut Bank Anna Mae was involved in various clubs or organizations to include 4-H, Cowbells, and the Cut Bank Snowgowers.  She enjoyed listening to polka music and in her younger years attending dances.

She is survived by her daughter Gail (Tom) Strader, Grandchildren TJ Strader, Jamie (Tom) Seifert, Brittany Hotchkiss, Stephanie (Rodney) Hunter, and Great-Grandchildren Blake Seifert, Lexi Stubbs, Cameron Strader, and Rhett Hunter.

Anna Mae is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elroy, her children Gary and Sharon, and sister Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 27 at 1 pm at the St. Margaret Catholic Church. Luncheon to follow at the church.

Cards can be sent to the family at PO Box 1561 Cut Bank, MT 59427.
