Allen Stratton

November 8, 1964 — August 2, 2017

Allen Stratton, 52, from Shelby passed away August 2nd, 2017 after a courageous battle with Systemic Scleroderma/Sclerosis.

Allen was born on November 8th, 1964 to Eldred and Susie Stratton in Chester.  He attended schools at the Greenhill School near Galata, attended and graduated from Shelby schools, and was a graduate of Helena Vo-Tech in diesel mechanics.

He married Lori Snyder on June 24th, 1989 and they had two children, Alex and Jackie.   He worked for Culligan and the State of Montana/DOT.  He was also a member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department and member of St Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4- wheeling, camping, sitting by the campfire, stirring the campfire, and spending time with family and friends.  He was just like his mom- he never turned down a cheeseburger at midnight!  His favorite thing was to spend time with his kids. Alex loved it when his dad taught him how to drive the tractor. Jackie loved when she and her dad went to either to the Peddler or The Dash to get a watermelon slush and then went driving around.

He is survived by his wife Lori, son Alex, daughter Jackie, his sister Leah Pehan, all of Shelby.  His uncle Charles (Barb) Nevin and family.  His mother- in-law, Cathy Snyder, a sister-in-law Diane Snyder, his nieces Alissa(Jason) Hershey and Kolten; Kayla (Jason) Jackson.  Special family friends Kevin, Lanell, Trevor (Sarah), and Amanda Dodson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Dewey Snyder, and niece Allison Hershey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 8, at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7pm at Whitted Funeral Chapel.
