Ted T. WrightSeptember 21, 1924 ~ December 4, 2017 (age 93)
Ted T. Wright passed away December 4, 2017 of natural causes at the local nursing Home Facility in Conrad.
Vigil service will be Friday, December 8 at 7:30pm at St. Francis Parish in Valier. Funeral Mass Saturday, December 9 at 10:30am at St. Francis Parish. Reception to follow mass with private burial later.
Ted was born to George Wright and May (Meyers) Wright on September 21, 1924 in Sentinel Butte, ND. Ted graduated from Sentinel Butte HS ND. Ted was a ranch hand, farm hand, and broke horses for many years. He was in the Army during the Occupation of Japan as a Paratrooper. After the service he worked for Authur Reinholz. Ted followed Authur’s daughter Ruth to Billings and married her in May 1948. They had 4 children Terry, Fred, David, and Linda. They purchased Hardware Hank and the Glacier Motel in Shelby, Mt. Ted and Ruth divorced in 1974. Ted then married Tiny (Lila) King in 1976. After retiring from the Conrad Post Office, he and Tiny raised cattle and horses. They spent many years dancing to their hearts content. Tiny passed away in 1984. Ted moved to Port Orchard WA to be with family and met Catherine Doyle. Her Catholic faith inspired Ted to build a Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Poulsbo Catholic Church. Ted made what was called “The Living Rosary”. The Rosary was so large it had to be carried in a suitcase. They toured Europe and squared danced every chance they had. Catherine passed away in 2007. After the passing of their son, Fred, Ted and Ruth rekindled their love and remarried September 21, 2007 in Great Falls.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joy, Don, Jay, and Ben; and children, Terry and Fred.
Ted was survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Linda (Tom) Kuka of Valier; Son, David (Anne) Wright of Reno, NV.; Stepsons, Joe, Raleigh and Ralph King; sister, Kay Doubles of AZ; 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Valier Public Library.
